Marianne Bland

orn in 1982 in the San Francisco Bay Area, Marianne Bland became the youngest person in the history of her hometown to obtain a business license for mural painting at the age of 16. In 2008, she was commissioned by the city of San Bruno to create a 50-foot "History of Transportation" mural. She graduated from the California College of Arts and Crafts with a BFA, where she studied painting and drawing with several outstanding teachers, including renowned American artist Raymond Saunders. Marianne also studied abroad at L'Ecole Superieure des Beaux-Arts in Marseille, France. She was recognized as Artist of the Month in N Magazine (April 2010) and on Sacramento365.com (March 2011).
Marianne is a proponent of affordable art & productivity, demonstrated by her participation in daily art challenges (chronicled on her blog: artproject2010.info) and small-format work for sale in her Etsy shop (trucdart.com). Prints of her cityscapes are available for rental online through TurningArt.com. She shows her paintings regularly at venues throughout Northern California, including City Art Gallery in San Francisco, where she has been an exhibiting member since 2006.
