LORI CHINN

y name is Lori Chinn and I am fifteen years old. I was born and raised in San Francisco living with my mom Julie, dad Jeff, and Gary, my brother. I started having an interest in drawing ever since I could hold a pencil or crayon. I loved the feeling of creating something out of nothing by simply moving my hand across a paper, watching colors and shapes being formed. Ideas would just come in my head and I would create them. My favorite medium to draw with is permanent markers. I don't enjoy the smell, but I love the brilliant colors they produce. I love creating detailed designs with thin tipped Sharpie markers.
I currently attend Lowell high school where I was elected the Public Relations officer for the Freshman class and have been re-elected to the same position for my Sophomore year. I draw, paint and create the posters and advertisements for school events. Aside from school, I am involved with church activities. I help draw the t-shirt designs for retreats and for our summer camp for kids.
As a young artist, one of my proudest moments was when my submission to the annual Young at Art event at the de Young Museum ("Hands of Diversity") was selected for their 2011 advertising campaign. I would love to create a new "Hands of Diversity" Heart to help raise funds for San Francisco General Hospital.
