Cancer Awareness Resources Education (C.A.R.E.)

The CARE project endeavors to replace the sense of helplessness and isolation that cancer patients often feel with a sense of personal power and control. Through CARE, patients diagnosed with cancer receive education and support to make coping with the disease a little easier. The program consists of a series of weekly sessions at which the patient is offered a healthy meal, an informational talk by a speaker in one of the disciplines involved in the treatment of cancer, and the opportunity for social interaction with others who are dealing with the same issues.
